In the spirit of continuing their “Giving Where We Live” philosophy, the KW Southwest agents are organizing their own local charity, R.E.A.L. Giving, to do more as a local office to support the needs of the county where they live. The KW Southwest Market Center is the largest realty office in Fort Bend County.For years the KW Southwest office participated in RED Day events on the second Thursday in May, with over 150 agents helping local Fort Bend nonprofits and charities. RED (Renew, Energize, Donate) is Keller Williams’ annual International day of service.
KW Southwest set a record in May 2017 by contributing more than $25,000 in one week with their support of Fort Bend Animal Control, Fort Bend Family Promise and the Parks Youth Ranch, along with a blood drive and Shredding Hunger. Over 150 agents spent the week with their RED shirts on, building new facilities and remodeling old ones, cleaning and organizing inside and outside of each organization’s office, and raising money for supplies and needed funds.
With encouragement from the corporate office, KW Southwest is now formally announcing their own charity, which will provide even more support to nonprofits in Fort Bend County. Mike Wong, President of the Board for the new charity says, “We will follow the foundation and culture established by our corporate charity, KW Cares.
Other KW Southwest agents on the leadership board, each of which has experience in working with 501(c)(3) organizations, include Kimbra Valachovic, Vice President of the Board, Linda Day, Danielle Durocher, Carolyn McEathron, Sharon Parker and Krista Ales.
“It really fits our culture, “Giving Where We Live,” and everything we have accomplished so far,” says Kimbra Valachovic. ”R.E.A.L. Giving started with donated funds from top producers in the KW Southwest office and is open to like-minded agents from any office in Fort Bend County.”
